I'll overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Former two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
